In the morning we dropped by the roundhouse and museum.
The old sections of original brick were my focus. Had I done it right one the
model? We also checked out the turntable and other details.

I know I'm supposed to be back at the trade show selling
roundhouse kits but one of our friends offered a pair of tickets for a Goose ride.
Now, how often do you get to ride on one of these thing? The roundhouse kits will
sell themselves.

We did four of five photo run-bys at various locations.
My favorite was along the famous Animas Canyon where only too briefly do you get
a glimpse on the train ride with all the passengers attempting to see and take
pictures. Here we were allowed to scramble up the rocks as the Goose backed around
the far corner and came back by us. Those photos are film so I'll post them once
I get them processes and scanned-
Back in Durango it was finally time to get to work. The
tradeshow runs in split shifts, a 9 to noon morning session and a 6 to 9 evening
set leaving midday open for layout tours and other excursions.

The model was well received and stirred up a lot of interest
and conversation. Some of the guys who worked at the roundhouse answered some of the
questions we had, like how the foreman's office was arranged. It was built out of old
car bodies which of course makes a lot of sense- They's have a bunch of them laying
around.
This was the night Mike took us to a really BAD Chineese
resturant. The first clue was when the Russian waitress brought me a warm beer. I'll
pay for it dearly tommorrow afternoon. Thanks Mike!
