THE PENNSYLVANIA SLIT-WINDOW BARN BARN
The Pennsylvania Slit-Window Bank Barn is a challenging craftsman kit
combining board-by-board with my fine scale Hydrocal masonry castings. A
large stone and wooden structure common to the Pennsylvania Dutch country.
Specifically, this kit is based on the David Stauffer barn of Butler County,
PA. The unique slit-windows were used for ventilation and easily blocked up
during the winter months.
I have condensed the 80' x 40' prototype down to 57' x 32'. The barn
features a cantilevered forebay with interior details of basement cattle
pens and horse stalls; first floor threshing floor, granary and hay mows
with oat mow above.
The kit features cast Hydrocal stone walls with traditional board-by-board
construction using Northeastern Basswood. Complete step-by-step instructions
and full-sized templates are included. If you are a craftsman model builder
you'll love this one, it's a must!
Complete the scene with the matching German Colonial Farmhouse!
57' x 32' in HO scale ( 7-3/4" x 4-1/4" )
